rc helicopters

I have a few hobbies prior to this new interest.
Computers will always be my first love, and singing my last, but rc helicopters have always been a fansy of mine. I've gone as far as to try and build a helicopter from paper and stuck in a 15k rpm motor to see if it will even lift, but was always met with disappointments. that was in the fifth and sixth grade.
Now, with my job, I can finance my own rc helicopter and great can not begin to express my feelings. Feeling the helicopter pulling away from my hand and lifting gives me a sense of exilleration I've known only fleeting in the past.

However, success is not complete as I am met with failures in other respects. All the helicopters that i've own seem to drift while in "hovering". thus, I tend to crash them while attempting to maintain a still hover. Ahhh well, such is my joy, to be short lived. But I am not giving up. I am bound to find one that can truely hover in one place and not drift. Thus, it will enable me to slowly move it up, down, forwards, backwards, left, and right. See, flying it slow is key at the moment. For as a totally blind person, speeding through the unknown can only result in a quick end to my hobby.

Lol! I tried to build a rocketship with my group in science class in the eighth grade. It was all right. It was sorta fun!

Believe it or not, over the pass month I got on this chopper trip. so I did what anyone else would do, I bought one. it comes with a small rc foam chopper very lite, it fits in the palm of the hand, and it is the neatest thing in the world to feel it raise from the palm and hearing it lift slowly. all I can really do with it successfully now is lift it in the air via the control, if I try and use the trip and stuff it goes all over the place and crashes.

one other thing I like doing is raising it to the cealing, and then slowly dropping it down to the carpet and then lifting again almost as if it was bouncing up and down. its a pretty cool pass time.

What a cool hobby.
i use to play with rc planes and helicopters before. i met a guy at a hobby store who had told me that he new a friend that was blind and flew rc airplanes at a local club. i tried getting in touch with him but wasn't able too. I lost the guys number. I had a very big helicopter also which was gass powered. It was a size 60. My idea was to have one of my brothers learn how to fly it so that he could teach me later. Unfortunatly, none of my brothers shared the same interest towards this hobby as I did. There are a couple of electric helis out there that are pretty easy to control. I had a couple of Sky Patrols by Airhog and they were real fun. I've also tried others such as the dragon.

I reccomend anything from AirHogs. Their products are pretty accessible and their Havoc Helly can hover. As a totaly blind RC helecopter user, they work pretty well, and are the only accessible helicopter as far as I know.

Wowness guys! I've always liked RC stuff but thought me being a blink I was relegated to propulsion explosives like rockets where you only aim to start with.
A chopper would be cool if you could make it hover because you could do a better job of controlling it. You're bound to hear the whirly bird. Any of you all use remote control boats at all?
Man guys RC cars, boats, planes anything with engines in it has always seemed cool and far out to me, just didn't know we blinks could really do it. Yet more stuff to spend money upon when the teeny ager is fully feathered and flown the coop.

Yes, I do own a few RC gas powered Boats and a 4 by 4 truck. I also use to have some RC airplanes and a Gas helicopter. I let the airplanes and helicopter go. I found it to be much easier to play with an RC car or truck in an open area, or to play with a boat in a calm lake. It is a very cool hobby. I am probably going back to RC planes though. I want to build a giant scale B17.
